5 easy face yoga exercises you wish you'd known sooner

The beauty market in recent years has been seeing a surge in demand for minimally invasive, non-surgical rejuvenation solutions. Yet, despite various options available, from fillers to laser resurfacing to microneedling, people are still struggling to find a solution they like. Cue face yoga exercises. Face yoga emerged, inspired by fitness lovers and supported by cosmetologists and beauticians. Applying the facial muscle principles of bodybuilding, face yoga gurus developed multiple face exercises that help keep facial features toned and full. Why do face yogis swear by these exercises? Because they are so simple and yet so incredibly beneficial. There are few things that will improve your mood and offer as much in return for just 10-15 minutes of your time.

Easy face yoga exercises to remember

Do every exercise slowly. If in doubt, apply less effort than you think is needed. You can use your favorite cream, serum, or lotion. Let’s start!

Exercise #1. Namaste

An exercise to disperse the lymph, relieve spasms, and remove swelling, which makes the face heavier and leads to "jowls." How to do it:
  1. Put your hands in namaste, and we put our thumbs right under the jaw bone and lead up.
  2. Repeat slowly 5-7 times on each side.

Exercise #2. Lip stretch

The exercise for a beautiful lip shape. The orbicular muscle of the mouth is very often spasmed due to stress and negative emotions that you’re holding back. This affects the shape of the lips. How to do it:
  1. Put your fingers under your lower lip.
  2. Slowly pull fingers apart. Don't use cream. You should feel the yoga stretch. Don’t worry, you won’t stretch the skin with such exercises. On the contrary, you will improve the skin’s tone.
  3. Repeat slowly 5-7 times under the lower lip.
  4. Repeat 5-7 times above the upper lip.

Exercise #3. Lymph drainage

For those who are prone to puffiness. Helps with "bags under the eyes." How to do it:
  1. Put your fingers on both sides of the nose, near the corners of the eye.
  2. With gentle movements, massage from nose to ear. Don’t touch the lower eyelid.
  3. Go all the way to the large lymph nodes in the neck. This massage removes all excess fluid.
  4. Repeat 5-7 times, slowly.

Exercise #4. Brow smoother

For those who have sore eyes and stubborn ‘11’ lines. When a small muscle between our brows spasms, it creates the “11” wrinkles. As your eyes interact with muscles when they’re overworked, this also affects vision. How to do it:
  1. Pinch the eyebrows and keep pinching them bit by bit, moving through the entire length.
  2. Repeat 5-7 times from the nose to the temples.

Exercise #5. Eyebrow raiser

Lift the upper eyelid with this eye-opening skin stretch. How to do it:
  1. Put your fingers in your hair, palms on your forehead. Put your elbows on a table.
  2. Push to slip your head out of your hands. Repeat this motion for 30 seconds.
  3. Rest and repeat again.


It’s never too early or too late to start doing face yoga, and there are very few conditions that can keep you from doing it.
